Hi Jos,

Nice article. The GIF image (BOM handling...) isn't working.
It would be great if you can share.

Regards,

Venkat

Venkat hi, thanks for your feedback - I will fix the animation when I am back in my home office end of this week
(Done - it is now a YouTube animation)

Best regards

(sorry... I pressed Enter before time :)).
You wrote about the battle before ERP and PLM, but what is the right way to organize the communication between ERP and PLM.

Thanks!
Oleg

Oleg hi, when I mentioned the battle between ERP and PLM, I meant the cultural battle - which I addressed in many of my posts - like Where is the MBOM - I know it is an on-going discussion, coming up several times in various forums. Technology or methodology is not the issue - it is the people that need to be ready for change

Best regards

Jos,

There is one thing, that I think, is missed in your story and this is about manufacturing processes and way to manage ECO/ECR across the organization. In this situation process is crossing PLM and ERP system. What is your view on that? Some of my ideas to manage Bill Of Materials between Engineering and Manufacturing is here - http://plmtwine.com/2009/10/22/bom-manufacturing-and-engineering/.

Best, Oleg

Oleg hi, I will address in one of my future posts the processes - it would become too much for a single post to cover all

Best regards
